Last year I had the opportunity to work with Organic Gardening Magazine, along with writer Nancy Matsumoto, on a composting story about Columbia Secondary School teacher Meredith Hill and her students from their school garden in Harlem. We also went out to Governor's Island where the students helped raise the chickens as part of the Earth Matter Composting Farm they have there.
